Hydrochloric Acid, Reagent, ACS, is a colorless and clear, highly corrosive, highly pungent solution of hydrogen chloride in water, makes an excellent acidifying reagent. It reacts with basic compounds, turning them into dissolved chlorides that can then undergo analysis.
