Methylene Blue (Loeffler)
Details
Generally used as bacteriological counter staining of, e.g. of gonococcae, lactic acid bacteria and for visualization of the pole corpuscles of pasteurella. It is often used in combination with Ziehl-Neelsen carbol fuchsin solution and hydrochloric acid in ethanol to stain mycobacteria.
